Walk through our original 1840s doors and emerge into a cacophony of color. Former post office shelves and bins and baskets are filled with inspiration and excitement.

We are just completing our seventh year at The Gathering.

Continuing our tradition of helping knitters and crocheters, we are a welcoming and friendly shop.

Creating with imagination and intention

Your knitting begins with an idea. Be inspired by spending time in the store and absorbing the creative energy infused in our space for more than a hundred years. We have the yarn to bring that project to life . . . with a focus on the “magic,” if you will, that each stitch contributes to the completion of the overall finished project. We begin our eighth year with the fairyland of inspiration to craft one-of-a-kind finished items that can only happen with making something entirely by hand.

Bio

Gwen Coltrin is the owner and proprietor of Echo Valley Fiber in Newtown PA. She has lived in Newtown since 1991 after stints in Westchester and Rockland Counties (NY) and Jefferson Township (NJ). She grew up in rural Utah County (UT) and has been knitting since she was about 8 years old. She is a die-hard “thrower”. She learned to crochet when she was 11 and loves both crafts. She spent a year in Germany working in the 70s and later owned an alpaca ranch in VA for more than a decade. Mother to four children scattered across the nation and 12 wonderful grandchildren she doesn’t get to see often enough. She enjoys weeding and playing the piano. She has more than 500 books in her Audible collection and is a pet parent to her Ragdoll cat (Mr. Gable) and a Keeshond dog (Violet). Fur is obviously part of her DNA.
