Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you located?

We are located at “The Gathering,’” a small shopping center just off Penns Park Road and Second Street Pike in Wrighhtstown. For GPS Purposes, put in “2310 Second Street Pike, Newtown”. We occupy the building with the flag on the front porch, and are next door to The Fancy Fig Cafe.

What are your hours?

We are open the following weekly hours as of March 2024;

Wednesday and Thursday 10:00 am to 3:00 pm

Saturday 10:00 am to 3:00 pm

Currently we are closed Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Friday. These hours will be expanded in May.

What is your return policy?

Y
arn purchased from Echo Valley Fiber may be returned within sixty (60) days from date of purchase for store credit only, with the following requirements:

1.  Yarn must be accompanied by its original receipt.
2.  Yarn is unused and has its original ball band wrapper.
3.  Yarn has not been wound.
4.  Yarn has not been damaged in any way, including but not limited to exposure to smoke, perfume, weather, or pet hairs.

There are no refunds or store credit for the following:  needles, books, patterns, notions, accessories, patterns, bags, buttons, shawl pins, bowls, mugs, toys or discounted yarns.

ALL SALE YARNS ARE NOT RETURNABLE AND ARE FINAL SALE.

ANY YARNS ON SALE WILL NOT BE WOUND IN-STORE.

We reserve the right to wind only one skein of yarn, regardless of purchase size.  We have yarn swifts and winders available for sale.

Instructional help fees are non-refundable and must be paid in advance.  If you need to change to another date, please notify the store at least one (1) day before your originally scheduled date and your fees can be applied to a future help session.  Otherwise, if we cannot get anyone to take your place at the class, no refunds will be given.  Thank you for understanding.

Cash or credit/debit cards are accepted.  Checks cannot be used for purchase unless the customer is known to us.

Do you offer finishing services?

No, unfortunately we do not offer finishing services at the present time. We will be happy to teach you how to finish your project. Just sign up for a help session. We occasionally will block items for customers, depending on their size and time involved and at the owner’s discretion. Blocking prices begin at $30 and up.

Why can’t we use yarn from our stash or that we purchased online or elsewhere?

Please remember that first and foremost we are a yarn shop and we sell yarn. We know that you have many other options to purchase yarn, in which case that seller should be able to provide you assistance. In order to remain open, we need to sell yarn.

Can you wind yarn that has been purchased somewhere else?

Again, we can sell you the right equipment to wind your own yarn at home, but we cannot take the necessary time and assume responsibility for winding yarn purchased elsewhere.

Can you just copy a pattern for us rather than having to purchase the whole book?

We support wholeheartedly the designer’s unique creative property — including the time and other investments they took to design the pattern — and thus we cannot copy a pattern for you, whether from Ravelry (unless it is a free pattern) or any other source. Small fee is required for copying.

What if I need you to order yarn because of a special color or amount?

If we currently stock the yarn from a vendor with which we have a relationship, you can complete a form available at the register detailing the color or type of yarn you want. All special orders must be paid for in advance. There can be no exceptions. You also must agree to order at least 2/3 of the minimum amount the yarn vendor required; for example, if yarn comes in a bag of five skeins, you must pay for at least 4 of the skeins.

Can we order online?

We are hoping to sell selected yarn lines for purchase on line: Artyarns and British Breeds. We carry other lines but as yet do not have them available for on-line purchase. This project was put on hold when Gwen broke her ankle but we are hoping to complete it by summer.

Why has the store been closed for so long?

Gwen got the store all ready for its ReOpening — and then just weeks later, she fell and broke her ankle. It has been a real journey to get back to the store between surgery, cast, braces. Torn tendon issues continue to be a problem. I’m hoping to be back just as soon as I can. Thanks for your concern.
