UPCOMING EVENTS:

  • APRIL

We’ll be having a FELTING WORKSHOP on Saturday, April 13 from 3-5pm in the store. Lauren Loeffler will be our instructor. All supplies and materials will be included. Cost is $45 for the class. This little gnome is representative of he type of creature we’ll learn to create. Lauren has taught with us before and is very experienced with beginners — so all are invited, even if you’ve never felted before. Sign up in the store. We have seats for six participants.

  • MAY

Have you ever tried Tunisian crochet? It isn’t exactly crochet or knitting, but rather a cross between. It uses a long-tailed crochet hook but you put a number of stitches on the hook for a row, rather than a stitch at a time in regular crochet. You work back and forth down the row to form both a forward and a return pass. Classes will be held for 90 minutes May 2, 16 and 30 to learn a variety of stitches, including simple, knit, purl and smock stitch. More information will be included in the April newsletter. Previous crochet experience not needed.

Who doesn’t love a spring cardigan? You can select from a number of great cardigans on Ravelry, but this one from designer Megan Nodecker is especially fun, called Maema. It doesn’t require buttons, is knit in one piece and uses a very interesting Honeycomb Brioche stitch. But don’t let that word “brioche” scare you off. It’s much easier than a two-color regular brioche. Whatever pattern you select, join us on Wednesday evenings and get a summer sweater just in time for July events
